Why do women idolize models?

Most girls want to be so skinny so they can be a runaway model. Most men want a girl who has somewhat of a feminine figure. I do not understand why grown women want to look like pubescent boys. I have that waif-like model figure and I would kill to have body like Ms. Kim Kardashian.
