Is a psychiatrist responsible for prescriptions written by a nurse practitioner in his employ?

As noted, is the psychiatrist responsible? I go to an office, the nurse practitioner's name is not on the door. I only consult with the nurse practitioner. What about the psychiatrist who oversees the practice? If the practitioner makes a mistake will the psychiatrist be held accountable?
