Why are my parents married?

well some parents do stay together just to not brake that bond of family so there children won't suffer but maybe who knows he said it because they were fighting and he said it out of being mad at your mom or something ..see how they get along some times do they get close and give each other a smooch talk to each other sweet or they just fight all the time.
