You can, but you have to look at the situation from different points of view as well. If you snitch on your GF's dad, she might not be liking you so well and he probably did and was correct in thinking that you were disrespecting his daughter. I do see where the humor could have been, but depending on exactly what you did, it could have been viewed as disrespectful. What was done in the video exactly, I'm a mom, but my daughter's bf would've have gotten about the same treatment if he did that. You do deserve an apology though I think it should go both ways.
